SIR Foundation Excellence in Innovation Award
Purpose:
Interventional Radiologists create and introduce novel minimally invasive procedures and devices that help solve some of our toughest medical challenges. To continue this rich history of innovation in IR, the purpose of this award is to fund compelling, novel ideas that lead to improved health outcomes in IR.
Innovation, for this purpose, is broadly defined as any use of emerging methods, new devices, new procedures, or new technologies, such as artificial intelligence and nanotechnology, that displays an exceptional degree of potential for transforming and advancing the specialty of interventional radiology.
Award:
Award winners will receive complimentary registration and a travel stipend of $1,000 to offset any travel costs to the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting. The presenter will have the opportunity to present his/her research as well as meet peers, network with senior scientists, and participate in learning opportunities at the SIR Annual Scientific meeting. Award winners will be recognized during the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting.
Eligibility:
The applicant must be at active SIR member and must submit an abstract to the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting.
Application/selection process:
The abstract must first be accepted as an oral presentation, traditional poster, or ePoster at the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting. During the abstract review process, all abstracts are assigned an innovation score. Up to three of the abstracts with the highest innovation scores will be recognized with this award.
